Chris Smith - Director
Smith earned a Bachelor of Science in Health at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX and also his Masters of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Smith previously served as the BSM Director for University of Texas at the El Paso campus, where he discipled the student leadership team, planed weekly outreaches to campus, planned mission trips, retreats, and community service projects. Met with students in one on one discipleship and was active in evangelism on campus. He has taught weekly Bible studies. Supervised campus missionary interns in weekly ministry on campus. Developed and maintained relationships with the local churches and BSM alumni to assist in ministry goals. Set the budget and ran every day administrative tasks for the BSM. He also has experience in marriage counseling for young couples, and officiated weddings and funerals.
He and his wife, Jonya, have four children.
My desire is to follow the command of the Great Commission and go make disciples. God has called us to live as lights in a dark world. I think the greatest tragedy in the church has been the lack of living as Jesus lived and not letting people around us see his example. I also believe there is a void in many churches of true life on life discipleship as Christ has called us to do. I believe throughout my calling into ministry God has given me a passion to pour into people through discipleship relationships so that they would catch the vision and do likewise.
